Clive gave his first guitar recital at the age of 15 and was then selected to perform in the Julian Bream BBC Master Class series. He continued his studies at the Royal College of Music with Carlos Bonell (Guitar) and Diana Poulton (Lute). Subsequently he was awarded a Postgraduate year to study composition with Stephen Dodgson. After completing college, Clive became busy in London as an all-round session musician, playing off-stage music at the Globe Theatre, lead guitar in Jesus Christ Superstar, and was even short-listed for Paul McCartney’s band Wings. Clive now enjoys an international career with concert, festival and radio performances throughout Europe, The Middle East and North America. In London he has given solo recitals at Southwark Cathedral, The Brazilian Embassy and The Dulwich Picture Gallery.
On a more intimate scale, Clive was invited to give a musical soirée for Salvador and Gala Dali at their Spanish villa, and performed in the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations in London, The British Embassy in Helsinki and for the Royal Family of Kuwait.
His ability to play a wide range of styles from an expansive repertoire has earned Clive work on British and Scandinavian cruise ships. He frequently broadcasts on radio in the UK and Scandinavia, and has been filmed for The Travel Show, BBC TV. Clive is currently preparing for a series of UK concerts and recording a new CD of Spanish and Latin American music with Ruth Avis (Flute) as The Piazzolla Duo.
